Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Home visits are meant for people who are house bound or too ill to travel to the surgery. Whenever possible try and come to the surgery where facilities allow for a more thorough and professional assessment of your illness.

Please telephone reception before 10am if you think you need a home visit.

Please note that children should be brought to the surgery by a parent or responsible adult.

A doctor will telephone you to assess the urgency of your request and deal with it appropriately. You may not actually need a home visit and the Dr may offer you an appointment at the surgery on the same day.

We now have an ACUTE HOME VISITING TEAM, who will visit our patients instead of the GP on some occasions. These highly trained practitioners can assess you in the same way as a GP and can prescribe any treatment needed.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit.
